The New Union Post was launched in 2025 to provide a platform for news on a critical issue for the European Union’s future – the process of enlargement – and for examining the political and social changes in countries aspiring to become new members of the EU.
This editorial project is committed to bridging the knowledge gap surrounding EU enlargement, promoting trustworthy information on the relationship between the EU and countries aspiring to become new members.
The process of EU enlargement is far more than the inclusion of new members. It represents an effort to promote peace, democracy, and the rule of law in neighboring regions, stimulate economic growth through trade, investment, and innovation within an integrated market, and enrich European culture.
The New Union Post explores these themes through analysis of the social and political frameworks, feature articles, interactive infographics, and interviews with leaders, citizens, and organizations from candidate countries. It includes thematic newsletters and podcasts, that provide in-depth examinations of the regions involved in the EU enlargement process.
